How many of us, after growing up, indulge in activities that spark our creativity? Other than artists, do we ever see a grown up getting lost in drawing or painting something?
For some reason, we stop finding creative activities worth our time. Being around children, seeing them getting lost in the world of creativity and colours, jogged my memory of the happiness drawing used to bring to me. They inspired me to be creative and showed me that it can be so much fun, even when you are not an expert at it.
This brings me to one of the most important quality that kids, with sheer simplicity, teach us all the time: courage.
Sing out loud. Dance like no one’s watching. The children live their lives limitless. They are not confined by the fears of failure or humiliation. They just dive into any kind of activity presented to them and they do it with such happiness and fearlessness.
There is no age limit to learning and children show us that there is, indeed, no barrier of age to be a teacher. So let’s follow the cue of our little wonders, pick up our paint brushes and add a splash of colours to our lives.
