Path towards success by Piyush Vibhandik

By Volunteer Piyush Vibhandik, FHI Nashik

Do you remember as a kid how you used to learn multiplication tables, the way you used to solve puzzles, the way you used to play carrom or the way you used to prepare for your exams or the way you studied differently than others? We mostly tackled our exams by doing hard work and used to do every other work fast so as to have more time to study! So I just wanted to make you think for a minute that whether the way we learned should also be the way kids in the future learn? I assume that your answer would be a big NO because everyone learns in a way different from others.

So as to make kids think out of the box in every sense; say studying, solving problems, tackling daily life situations, thinking about one’s surroundings and themselves, etc. Kids should be able to think and execute their ideas in a smart and out of the box way. Out of the box thinking is similar as smart work where kids learn and think of something smarter and easier to tackle every situation in their school life or personal life as well, which will lead them to success.

As a volunteer for Fly Higher India, I feel so blessed to have an opportunity to reach out to kids around me and teach them the importance of thinking out of the box. As a kid, there was no one to help me think like this, so the importance of thinking out of the box is well known to me. Kids have an extra plus point if they know the way to think out of the box. Children, from an early age itself, would be able to think smarter and will have an edge in this competitive world. It is necessary from childhood because not only is education getting more difficult, but it is also difficult to get a job and nothing is achieved easily. So, to earn a place in the world as well as to leave an impression on someone’s mind, making decisions that are far from ordinary and thinking in a way that is different and fresh is the only possible key available in this era. Thinking outside the box will not only increase one’s mental capacity but will also develop a confidence in kids which will gradually make them successful. As a volunteer, I would deeply convince the kids to pay due importance to the idea of thinking outside the box, how this will help them in the future and make them stand out the best amongst all.

On a lighter note, I would like to quote, “EDUCATION IS NOT THE LEARNING OF THE FACTS, BUT THE TRAINING OF THE MIND TO THINK OUT OF THE BOX.”
