“We make a living by what we get, But we make a life by what we give.”
~ Winston Churchill
This famous saying inspires us to give more and more without expecting anything in return and also imparts an important lesson to us about how to make our lives better.
Fly Higher India – FHI does a commendable job in providing knowledge to children, that isn’t just confined to books. The children are exposed to practical knowledge and that is what makes FHI so special and unique.
We joined FHI in the latter half of 2019 and it already feels like a huge part of our lives. It has been an enriching experience – bringing smiles to the faces of these kids and thus bringing smiles to our own. We contributed our bit for the year 2019 and now that we have a new year at our doorstep, we would like to do so much more to give wings to this already flying high initiative.
The most precious gift one can ever give is their time, so we wish to contribute to FHI by devoting our time to more and more of its events. We eagerly look forward to participating actively in suggesting interesting themes for each month and designing intriguing and fun activities related to the decided theme for kids as well as the volunteers.
We also wish to setup a library of 20-25 books at the organisations where our events are held. During the events, we can read the stories to the kids and encourage them to do the same among themselves over the course of time. We can conduct an activity where the children get to discuss their favourite characters or parts about the story that they like the most. A story writing competition is on our list too.
No contribution to uplift others can be called big or small. We hope to create a difference, no matter how insignificant, in the lives of these children and do our tiny bit for the betterment of the society.
