People say ‘live in the moment’ so much because it’s important. We’re either too busy reminiscing about the past or thinking about the future, rather than to appreciate all the wonderful things that are happening right now.
Where possible, we should direct all our attention to being in the here and now. Practicing mindfulness through spreading smiles connecting with a NGO or by oneself is the perfect way to start.
So, with FHI we plan to dedicate a part of 2020 towards the betterment of the society. If we commit to holding to a vision of making a difference, we could change social work from a place of negativity and defeat, to recognizing our everyday successes and aspiring for more, doing this we will be able to tell people that there is one NGO Fly Higher India – FHI that brings smiles on kids’ faces and believe that this gives us relief, peace of mind and happiness.
We need a shift in the culture of social work; away from compliance and towards creativity, away from inadequacy and towards celebrating proficiency and building a culture of encouragement and vision-centered leadership. If we achieve this, we may see a profession where workers are motivated by their jobs.
Everything you do to help an organization makes a difference. The support you provide has a ripple effect. It helps the organization, the individuals it serves, their respective families, their communities, and it helps you. It is impossible to make others feel good without feeling good yourself.
